Nerf Vortex Lumitron Blaster with Firefly Tech - YouTube

HJ Reviews will be reviewing the NERF VORTEX Lumitron. The Lumitron is pretty much a Praxis except recoloured, comes with no stock and uses a firefly tech clip. It comes with 10 XLR Glow in the Dark discs...

The Nerf Vortex Lumitron is a glow-in-the-dark pump-action blaster. It includes a 10-disc clip and 10 discs. Place the 10 discs into the disc chamber. Then turn on the light that's built into the chamber. The light causes the discs to glow when they are fired. The Lumitron can send the discs flying up to 60 feet.

My 8 year old son loves the NERF Vortex Lumitron. There was no assembly required which is a bonus. 4 AA batteries are required but the Vortex works without the batteries. The batteries are to charge up the discs so they glow when you shoot them. The Vortex is easy to use. You basically pump the handle and pull the trigger. It is also very easy to load the magazine with the discs. Unfortunately the discs jam a lot. There are instructions on how to remove the jam which is easy for a parent to do but my 8 year old son found it difficult. Jo McGillivray

As someone with a passion for toys, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to test drive the new Nerf Vortex Lumitron. I've always liked the Nerf disc line since it arrived, even though I've lost many discs, and this new machine compares pretty well to standard Nerf firearms. However, it's also got a few flaws, detailed below in the Good, the Bad and the Nerfy!
